Practice is the essential characteristic of engineering, especially has the importance of mechanical engineering practice teaching. With the goal of strengthening the practical ability and the innovation ability of students, the paper proposes seven aspects of practice teaching reform, i.e., tamp foundation, core ability, local characteristics, project carrier, teaching and research integration, the open sharing and international perspective”. The implementation process is analyzed and the corresponding countermeasures are given. Only practice can lead to innovation.
