The development of the network application demands the network engineering students to hold strong engineering capacity, This paper gives a brief analysis of the concept about CDIO engineering education scheme, and discusses the teaching reform and practice for the students with the major of network engineering. It deals with the CDIO engineering education mode. Teaching metliod and model are proposed based on the requirement of CDIO engineering capacity, and talent training scheme of project-driven way. The model includes curriculum system, process and measures about engineering ability training, and is established based on multi-dimension and multi-level thought. The reform improves engineering practical ability gradually by the way that starts with basic engineering ability, then professional engineering ability, then comprehensive engineering ability, then vocational ability and final innovation ability. At the same time, the paper also points out that further exploration and practice in engineering teaching reform are necessary, it includes CDIO ideas, and objective and quantitative evaluation system needs to be further clear.
