Abstract
- The use of the non-contact tonometer has increased greatly over the last decade owing to the advent of hand-held devices, which match the accuracy under normal clinical conditions of standard Goldmann contact techniques. One paper presents results of a single-centre retrospective analysis of IOP values recorded from the right and left eyes of middle-aged and elderly at risk but assumed non-glaucomatous subjects. The data were collated on the basis of each subject's gender. A study was prompted by the findings of previous reports that there exists a significant right versus left eye asymmetry in non-contact measures of IOP for non-glaucomatous females.
