Abstract
- The article discusses a study which explored the frailty status of a sample of older adults with Adult Protective Services (APS)-substantiated self-neglect participating in a vitamin D intervention study. It notes that frail older adults have a 2-fold increase in risk of mortality and prefrail older adults have a 1-fold increase risk of mortality when compared to robust older adults. It suggests that strength training and balancing exercises can minimize age-related muscle loss.
