Abstract

The article discusses the safety and efficacy of cataract surgery which is the most common procedure for infectious post-operative endophthalmitis (IPOE) and inflammation. It mentions the prophylaxis against IPOE and inflammation in cataract surgery using different drug delivery methods. It notes the use of antibiotics that did not make a significant impact on the rate of IPOE when intracameral cefuroxime was used.
