A "Universidade popular invisível": projetos, ações e aproximações entre Brasil e Itália nas experiências de educação a distância pelo rádio (1930-40).

This paper analyzes partial results of postdoctorate study carried out in Italy between 2008 and 2009 with funding from CAPES. Entitled Radio, nazione e "L'Universita Popolare Invisibile": mediazioni ed interfacce Brasile-Italia nei decenni dal 1920 al 1940, it sought to trace records of the relationship between Brazilian and Italian intellectuals to consolidate the radio as a vehicle to disciplinate and control society through its use in schools and rural areas in both countries. Such indications come from Gustavo Capanema Archive's documents, Ariosto Espinheira's book Radio and education, published in 1934, and sources culled in Italian archives. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
