ESTUDO DA PRESCRIÇÃO DO ANTIDEPRESSIVO FLUOXETINA NO TRATAMENTO PARA A DEPRESSÃO NA CIDADE DE PELOTAS.

Depression is one of the most common mental disorders in the population and can occur in all age groups. It is responsible for high processing costs, causing great harm to the individual and hence to society. The aim of this study is to evaluate the prescription of fluoxetine treatment for depression in Pelotas city. This work was carried out through the documentary analysis of control recipes especially for the fluoxetine substance, belonging to the list of substances subject to special control of the decree 344/98 of Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária ANVISA, list C1, which is retained in pharmacies or drugstores for future control of the Health Surveillance. The following data were collected: patient's sex, prescribed medication, and medical speciality of the prescriber. The results were analyzed and submitted to quantitative analysis. 300 prescriptions were analyzed. Through the analysis of the results and the literature it can be unified that women, once again received more prescriptions of antidepressants when compared to men. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
