This article intends to briefly present the main amendments introduced by Law no. 23-A/2015, of 26 March, to the General Framework for Credit Institutions and Financial Companies (introduced by Decree-Law no. 298/92, of 31 December), in what concerns the bailin as a resolution measure, through the implementation of Directive 2014/59/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 15 May, that established the framework for the recovery and resolution of credit institutions and investment firms.
