Abstract

Saccadic reaction times from a focused-attention task with a visual target and an acoustic nontarget support the hypothesis that the amount of saccadic facilitation in the presence of a nontarget increases with the prior knowledge of alignment with the target across different blocks of trials. The time-window-of-integration model can account for the size of the effect by having window size depend on the prior knowledge of alignment. Some efforts to identify the neural correlates of the effect are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
