Abstract

The article presents the results of numerical modeling of the solidification process. We used one of the enthalpy formulations of solidification. In particular, we focused on comparing the results of calculations for various methods of the effective thermal capacity approximation used in the apparent heat capacity formulation of solidification. We have shown that the choice of one of four tested methods of approximation does not significantly affect the results and duration of the numerical simulations. Differences in the resulting temperature did not exceed a few degrees. All numerical simulations were executed on software with our solidification module. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
