Abstract

The article discusses the applications of nucleic acid testing (NAT) or nucleic acid amplification testing (NAAT) in diagnosis and therapy. Topics tackled are the association of NAT with blood screening, use of NAT in detecting infectious diseases, predicting cancer and guiding cancer treatment, as well as for personalized and precision medicine, screening for genetic disorder, and diagnosis of mitochondrial diseases.
