Abstract

This article presents a study on the choice of criteria for the selection of topics to be worked in the Mathematics Curriculum of the High School, that relate mathematics contents to themes of interest. This work is justified by the importance of the Math teacher seek different methodological features for the development of the teaching and learning process, which can be applied in their classes, arousing the curiosity, the attention and the interest of students. From the contributions of Skovsmose (2006), Doll Jr. (1997) and Silva (2009) has been elaborated a classification of the themes of interest that can be developed along the Mathematics Curriculum. This classification can subsidize the teachers in their choice of themes to be developed, for it presents possible mathematics contents that can be worked in each theme. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
