Investigates the concentration and distribution of polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) congeners in milk from mothers in Austin, Texas. Utilization of PBDE as flame retardants; Increase PBDE concentration in the U.S. compared to Europe; Potential toxicity to nursing infants; Role of PBDE in causing neurodevelopmental toxicities; Need to determine if animal fat in food is the major route of exposure.
