Abstract
- The equilibrium constants for the dissociation reaction 2FeCl−4=Fe2Cl−7 + Cl− in {1-methyl-3-butylimidazolium chloride + Iron(III) chloride} FeCl3/BMIC where 1-methyl-3-butylimidazolium chlorides is a room temperature ionic liquid, were determined potentiometrically in the temperature range (308.15 to 343.15) K. The dependence of <f>pKdis</f>, where <f>Kdis=a(Cl−)a(Fe2Cl7−)/a2(FeCl4−)</f> on temperature was found to be <f>pKdis=23.07449+793.7870(K/T)−0.0349(T/K)</f>. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
