Abstract

The article explores the prevalence of corruption in Nepal following the earthquake that hit the kingdom in 2015. The Nepalese government is criticized for doing nothing to help the earthquake victims in Gati. Politics in the country is characterized by patronage systems, ethnic networks, and plain old corruption. Foreign organizations and individuals have provided relief to the victims, including the United Nations Development Programme and the Red Cross.
