Abstract
- The article shares views on the United Nations' (UN) Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) anti-poverty initiative. Topics discussed include the end of the timeframe for achieving the MDGs in 2015, the claims of UN that poverty and hunger have significantly decline globally, and how efforts to reduce poverty and hunger have been affected by the rapid growth of the global population. Also mentioned are international food aid initiatives and the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
