Abstract

This research project has as its objective the identification of the composition of the system of textile production composed of "maquiladoras" in the Atlacomulco, Mexico, region, from an analysis of two categories of agglomerations: precision of the internal complexity and precision of the morphological conformation, which led to an inquiry over the specifics in the constitution and behavior of the "maquiladoras". As a result, the understanding of the intra-territorial processes derived from their activities became possible. As a main outcome of this research the description of the conditions which are found in the northern region of Mexico is highlighted in terms of the productive processes, the locating and relocating of the "maquiladora" industry, just as the traditional configuration it has had in this region.
