Abstract

In our contribution we try to look at the problem of self-harm from the multiple perspectives. First, we discuss the most common forms of self-mutilation in clinical practice. We try to think about the dynamics of self-harm in different forms of pathology. Proceeding from the most severe forms, to wider variations of norms. We try to distinguish the dynamics of self-harm due to excessive stress load and different type of dynamics due to conditions of dissociation. We look on self-harm also as a cultural phenomenon that can be associated with specific subcultures. We also discussed the form of self-harm, which is publicly presented as a kind of art. In our paper we use the case studies from our own clinical psychology practice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
