Abstract
- The article explores how the Yiddish culture of interwar Vilna was reflected in the topography of the city. Particular focus is given to Deborah Dash Moore's "At Home in America: Second Generation New York Jews" which looked at the concrete aspects of Jewish life in New York. Topics covered include the comparison of the images of the Lower East Side and the Vilna ghettos and the failure of Moore to place her study in a larger context that would link it to a more Jewish attraction to city life.
