Abstract

In Romania the sudden cessation of mineral resources exploitation and processing activity has caused a strong impact on both environment and community. After the closure of mining activity have remained many waste mining deposits, empty spaces, equipments and constructions, etc. managed faulty. In the last few years, the copper exploitation at Rosia Montana has proved that the activity of the mining sector is profitable even in the case of law content deposits and exporting concentrates. At the beginning of the years 2000, the exploitation of non-ferrous ores was considered a non-sense. This assessment has been one of the elements that led to the decision of closing non-ferrous ores mining activity. The destruction of the processing capacities and metal transformation plant in finished product had economic and social impact, losing added value obtained after mining concentrate processing and capitalizing the finished product.
