Abstract

The author discusses the political aspects of adult education, as of March 2016. He states that the advocates of adult education have made the advocacy process clearer over the past several years, and mentions political challenges facing the advocacy like lobbying. He notes that the an advocacy campaigns don't fall under the definition of lobbying defined by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, and cites key elements of a successful advocacy campaign like alignment and targeting.
