Abstract: The article discusses research that assessed the efficacy of anti-tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha drugs in patients with hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). Topics covered include the initial characteristics of HS patients treated with an anti-TNF-alpha drug, factors associated with a complete or partial response to first-line anti-TNF-alpha therapy, and the modest and inconsistent efficacy of the therapy for moderate-to-severe HS.
