Abstract

This study was conducted in order to determine students' views about using the instrument 'bağlama' in secondary school musical training. Study was designed according to descriptive survey model. A surveywhoseinternalconsistencyandreliabilitywasdeterminedwasused in the study in order to obtain student opinions. The pre-application of the questionnaire was performed with 288 students and the CoranbachAlfa value was found 84. For the research, a workgroup was preferred and it was consisted of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders from every geographic region. The questionnaire improved was applied to 2196 students constituting the workgroup. In accordance with the data obtained in the study in the framework of the main purpose, such results as teachers' using bağlama in music lessons, the state of admiration of students for bağlama and information about the instruments which the workgroup want to play in their general musical training and in their life were obtained and some advice was given at the end of the study.
