Abstract
- The article discusses the highlights at the conference held on November 13-16, 2014 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania hosted by the University of Pittsburgh. Topics include topical explorations of Canadian song practices and traditions, expressive arts as an alternative mode of communicating, and the social impact of expressive culture being used as a mode of shaping memory. Intangible cultural heritage (ICH) and its conceptions in Canada are also mentioned.
