Abstract

The article presents the results of the Liraglutide Efficacy and Action in Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (LEAN) study on overweight patients and shows histological evidence of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis. It states that liraglutide, a human glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) analogue can reduce the reduce the glycosylated haemoglobin (HbA) concentrations by about 1 percent. It mentions that liraglutide treatment results to the improvement of serum concentration of glucose.
