Abstract: Possible mechanisms for Rh-promoted indole formation from vinyl/azidoarenes were examined computationally, and a mechanism is proposed in which the Rh catalyst promotes generation of a nitrene but is not directly involved in cyclization. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
