Abstract

The article discusses a study by Wendy L. Watson and colleagues which aims to examine the level of energy, sugars and saturated fat contained in the beverages and snacks served in major coffee chains in New South Wales (NSW) as compared to adults' daily intake (DI) reference values. Topics discussed include the process of collecting nutrition information on menu items consumed in between meals, and the use of Australia and New Zealand Food Standards Code and Australian Dietary Guidelines.
