Abstract

To make clear the heat tolerance and resistance to bacterial wilt of eggplant germplasm resources, screening of specific resistance materials and provide a basis for their utilizations, 8 inbred lines and 13 accessions of eggplant germplasm from Southeast Asia were identified and evaluated for heat tolerance by heat-injury index and relative conductivity and resistance against bacterial wilt by inoculated to seedlings by root soaking. The results showed that, two of the eggplant from Southeast Asia had strong heat tolerance, and all the thirteen accessions of eggplant germplasms from South Asia were with resistance to bacterial wilt, among them eight had high resistance (HR), and five had resistance (R). We found that some of the germplasm had strong heat tolerance and high resistance to bacterial wilt,and there was correlation among them. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
