Abstract
- The article presents a study on a new weight loss intervention for persons who emotionally eat. The findings revealed that adding skills which target one's ability to modify emotions may not improve the short-term efficacy of a standard behavioral weight loss treatment (SBT) for most African-American women, that overall results indicate that persons who emotionally eat achieve weight loss when joining a SBT program for over 20 weeks, and that the long term effects of SBT need further studies.
