Abstract

The article describes the case of a 3-month-old male with Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome who presented with progressive respiratory distress, failure to thrive and features of overgrowth with macroglossia and hemi-hypertrophy. Topics covered include the results of examinations that led to the diagnosis of massive thymic hyperplasia, the effectiveness of subtotal surgical resection in the presence of respiratory symptoms, and the importance of surveillance by tumor markers in follow-up.
