Abstract

The article discusses the five dangerous myths about Pakistan that the country's foreign and security policy propagated for its vested interests. It states that the myths have spoiled U.S. foreign relations with Pakistan and the U.S. sought cooperation with India since 2000. It is noted that former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf stated that the country faces existential threat from India and highlighted that it is a victim of terrorism. It mentions the ties between Pakistan and terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). It also states that Pakistan has not been a reliable ally to the U.S.
