A series of new tin compounds derived from 4-Mercaptophenylacetic acid: Synthesis and characterization.

Eight new tin compounds have been obtained from 4-Mercaptophenylacetic acid and trialkytin chloride or dialkytin dichloride. All the compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR and NMR ( 1 H, 13 C and 119 Sn) spectroscopy; compounds 1 and 7 were further characterized X-ray crystallography diffraction analyses. The structural analyses reveal that compound 1 has a 1D infinite chain structure; compound 7 has an unusual network structure containing dinuclear 18-membered and tetranuclear 26-membered organotin macrocycles.
