ESP / ASP in the Domains of Science and Law in a French Higher Education Context: Preliminary Reflections.

The article discusses the importance of the research about the Anglais de Spécialite (ASP) in the institutional context of the languages for specialists of other subjects or LANgues pour Spécialistes d'Autres Disciplines (LANSAD). Topics covered include the emergence of LANSAD as a new subgroup for teaching English to non-specialists in France, the issues affecting English language teaching in French higher education, and the comparison of ASD with English for Specific Purposes (ESP).
