Abstract
- The discovery of unambiguous evidence identifying the location of an ancient aboriginal burial ground on the shore of the Ottawa River in the core of Canada's capital region has opened important new lines of inquiry relevant to the origins of Canadian archaeology, the formation of the country's first museums and the role played by the Ottawa physician and antiquarian Dr. Edward Van Cortlandt in the early investigation and exhibition of Canada's prehistoric past.
