Complete remission after rituximab therapy in an HIV-positive patient with pemphigus vulgaris.

The article describes the case of a severe pemphigus vulgaris (PV) in a patient with history of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection who attained complete remission after two courses of rituximab therapy. It suggests the use of rituximab in HIV-positive patients with PV to avoid the various side-effects potentially related to conventional immunosuppressive therapies.
