Novo discurso sobre saúde pública em goiás: a "luta pela vida" do hospital de urgências de Goiânia.

This work focuses on two constituent points of citizenship, health and communication. From a Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) of a television report of the journalistic series "Fight for Life" about the Emergency Hospital of Goiania - Hugo, the paper reflects on the role of media in building the representation of the meaning of public health, considering that despite the negative facts constantly disclosed about this commonweal, in this case the frame is an appreciation of the institution and its staff, not only because the hospital has changed, but because the discourse about it took on a new focus, a new look that can change the citizens' image of Hugo.
