Habitação para pessoas idosas: problemas e desafios em contexto português.

The quality and adequacy of housing confer a fundamental requirement for older people. An increased influence on the independence, health and social dynamics experienced by the elderly it is performed by these conditions. Nevertheless, countries such as Portugal present a lack of effort and targeted policies that encourage the adoption of the "aging in place" paradigm. This paper presents a brief review of scientific literature, discussed the current Portuguese conjecture on this problem and presents an analysis based on the best practices in Europe.
