Testimony in the Muscles, in the Body: Proxy Performance at the Mesa Easter Pageant.

An essay on the Mesa Arizona Easter Pageant performance is presented. It offers a history of the Mormon faith and examines the way performers act their roles based on Latter-day Saints (LDS) theology in behalf of the people they are representing in the proxy performance and the way annual ceremonies renew the old stories of faith. The author relates his experience of feeling a renewal of covenant to Mormon ordinances such as baptism.
