Abstract

The quality of produced steel, especially from secondary refining using synthetic slag, is of great importance. In this context, the use of industrial waste in the production of synthetic slag is considered an important option on the search for new materials and waste reuse. In this context, this work aims to conduct a study to replace conventional lime per marble waste and also fluorite by calcium aluminate. The industrial process were simulate in a laboratory scale furnace and synthetic slag of marble waste and different levels of Al2O3 and CaO was prepared in order to verify the influence of these compounds in desulfurization and added in a steel bath at l,600°C. Metal samples were collected periodically in order to analyze S content against time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
