Abstract

An analysis is made of the main trends in the production of friction materials and brake shoes based on ceramic materials (ceramic-matrix composites - CMCs) and the manufacture of heavy-duty automotive brake systems based on CMC brake disks having a SiC matrix reinforced with carbon fibers.
