Fibromatosis juvenile u dzieci - opisy przypadków.

Fibromatosis juvenile is a soft tissue neoplasm which originates from the myofascial structures. It is locally invasive, with a high recurrence rate between 20-70%, particularly with lesions located in the head and neck region. The authors present two cases of juvenile fibromatosis of the head and neck in children hospitalized in the Pediatric ENT Department in Poznan. The first was a 25-day male newborn with a tumor on the right side of the neck, and the other was a 12-month-old boy with tumor of the right temporal area. In both patients, after prior diagnostic imaging (USG, MRI) the tumor was removed by surgery. In one case, the recurrence of tumor was observed after 4 months and it required another surgical intervention. Surgical excision with a safety margin is the most effective form of fibromatosis treatment. The risk of recurrence is the highest during the first 12 months after surgery and patients require long-term follow-up after treatment.
