Abstract

The article talks about the role of press secretaries in the U.S. government. The author states that if getting favorable publicity were the sole role of the press secretary, the nation would hear little of him and he would not hold so influential a position in every administration. The author presents an overview of the relationship between some U.S. presidents and their press secretaries. According to the author, the seriousness of the position reflects and itself has aggravated a severe imbalance in the constitution.
