Abstract
- The article discusses the case of a 53-year-old woman with ovarian cancer and metastatic brain tumor who achieved prolonged survival with a good quality of life (QOL) following a combination of systemic chemotherapy with the drug nifedipine. The patient was given pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PLD) plus chemotherapy with paclitaxel plus carboplatin (CBDCA) with nifedipine in the hope of increasing anti-cancer drug efficacy. The role of nifedipine in P-glycoprotein inhibition is discussed.
