Abstract
- A high sensitive low-energy neutrino detection experiment, KamLAND (<UNL TYPE="BAR" STYLE="S">Kam</UNL>ioka <UNL TYPE="BAR" STYLE="S">L</UNL>iquid scintillator <UNL TYPE="BAR" STYLE="S">A</UNL>nti-<UNL TYPE="BAR" STYLE="S">N</UNL>eutrino <UNL TYPE="BAR" STYLE="S">D</UNL>etector), began data taking in January 22, 2002. The detector is a large volume (1200m3) liquid scintillator in a deep underground mine in Kamioka, Japan. Detector performance and <F><OVL TYPE="BAR" STYLE="S">ν</OVL>e</F> signal candidates from the KamLAND long baseline reactor <F><OVL TYPE="BAR" STYLE="S">ν</OVL>e</F> oscillation experiment is presented.
