Abstract
- Single crystals of l -histidinium p -toluenesulfonate [LHPT], an organic nonlinear optical (NLO) material, have been grown by slow evaporation solution method at room temperature. The crystal system was confirmed from single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The functional groups were identified using FTIR spectroscopy. UV–visible spectrum shows that the cut-off wavelength of LHPT occurs at 275 nm. Photoluminescence studies conforms the violet fluorescence emission peak at 375 nm. Thermal properties, dielectric constant and dielectric loss of LHPT were examined using TG/DTA and dielectric analysis respectively. The SHG efficiency of grown LHPT was measured by employing Kurtz and Perry powder technique for the first time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
