Abstract

The article discusses the role that pancreatic B (Beta) cell enhancers play in regulating the circadian rhythm of the genetic transcription that controls the secretion of insulin, including regard to the regulation of the genes CLOCK and BMAL1. The impact that the circadian clock has on maintaining the homeostasis of glucose levels in the body is discussed.
