Abstract

The article credit card industry executives and experts disputed claims by streaming video company Netflix Inc. that the process of U.S. banks replacing credit cards and debit cards with computer chip-enabled cards in 2015 led to payment processing difficulties and involuntary cancellations of Netflix subscriptions. According to the article, Netflix fell about 270,000 subscribers short of new subscriber forecasts. The article states that shares of stock in Netflix declined by eight percent following trading and the release of third-quarter results on October 15, 2015.
