Abstract
- The article profiles Steven Banks, the commissioner of New York City's Human Resources Administration, with a particular focus on his role as an advocate for the homeless. According to the author, Banks' previous career as an activist and a lawyer for the Legal Aid Society has helped him to effect change from within the city government and has improved activists' views on the administration of New York City mayor Bill de Blasio.
