Abstract

The article focuses on the social justice issues in the society. It offers information on the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics (CCSSM), which includes mathematical modeling that allows students to solve problems arising in daily life, society and workplace. It focuses on the importance of proportional reasoning in the mathematics curriculum.
