Configuración de identidades diaspóricas en cuentos irlandeses contemporáneos.

The new millennium presents challenges regarding the analysis of contemporary migratory movements, which have been affected by the various social processes that occur in a globalized world. With the aim of exploring recent discourses of migration, cultural and postcolonial studies have developed categories such as 'refugee', 'exile', 'outcast', 'cosmopolitan', in order to refer to different types of contemporary migrants and to explain the configuration of their identities as a result of diasporic experiences. This paper intends to examine the impact of displacement in the construction of identity of the migrant characters in short stories by Irish author Colum McCann. To this end, we revise the concepts mentioned above in the light of postcolonial and cultural theories, in the understanding that various interpretations can be discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
